Taste Port Douglas 2021

Whether you live locally, are coming from further afield, have your own wheels or want to be shuttled in and out of Port Douglas town centre, the following mode of transport options will help lead the way to TASTE Port Douglas 2021.

Once you’ve arrived at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, tropical Port Douglas is yours to explore. If you have rented a car, the main street (Macrossan Street) is a mere five minute drive from the Resort. If you do not have access to a car, there are plenty of ways to get around.

By Shuttle:

SR Coaches run a local shuttle service to and from any destination within Port Douglas. Guests can purchase one-way transfers ($5 per person, each way) or multi-day passes that allow unlimited rides for a period of time at a fixed price (1 to 7 days). Shuttles arrive at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort every 7 to 10 minutes and guests can call SR Coaches on 0469 723 071 to request a pick up from almost any location in town.

There are also a number of other local shuttle services that run in and out of town.

By Uber or Taxi:

Uber and taxi services are available in Port Douglas however they are very limited. Please be mindful of this during peak periods as wait times may be longer than expected.

By Bike or On Foot:

Bike hire is available at the Resort or in town at Bike Shop and Hire Port Douglas. Macrossan Street is less than a 10 minute bike ride via Four Mile Beach and/or Port Douglas Road.

Walking via Four Mile Beach is a beautiful way to get to Macrossan Street from the Resort and takes less than 30 minutes.

Day of Taste Port Douglas

Shuttle: SR Coaches will be providing shuttle services in and out of town for Taste Port Douglas attendees on Saturday 9th October. The shuttle service will start at 10:30AM from the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort and will pick up/drop off guests from Iron Bar on Macrossan Street and The Crystalbrook Marina car park every 30 minutes. The shuttle service will conclude at 10:30PM.
Parking: Parking is available free of charge at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort and overflow parking is also accessible at the Sunbird Center carpark, attached to the resort.

Located approximately one hour from Cairns Airport, you can reach Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas in a number of ways, all of which feature a beautiful scenic drive along the tropical North Queensland coast.

By Shuttle or Taxi:

Pre-booking an airport transfer service is the easiest and most cost effective way of getting to and from Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas.

SR Coaches offer shared and private chartered transfers between Cairns Airport and Port Douglas, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Prices vary depending on passenger number and preferred method of transfer, and bookings must be made at least 12 hours in advance.

Exemplar also offer shared transfers between Cairns Airport and Port Douglas which operate to a timetable with fixed pick up/drop off locations. Private charted transfers are also available with Exemplar on request. Prices vary depending on passenger number and preferred method of transfer, and bookings must be made in advance.
Private taxis are also available at Cairns Airport and will cost approximately $180.00 each way.

By Car:

Renting a car or self-driving to Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas is a great option for those seeking flexibility and freedom to explore the surrounding area once they arrive in Port Douglas. There are a number of rental car services available at the Cairns Airport. As rental car stock is limited, we recommend booking your vehicle as soon as possible.

Directions from Cairns Airport:

Follow Airport Ave to National Route 1 Cairns North. Follow National Route 1 and Captain Cook Hwy/State Route 44 for 58 kilometers until you reach the roundabout for Port Douglas Road in Craiglie. Continue on to Port Douglas Road for 3.5 kilometers. The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort will be on your right. Turn right at the Sheraton roundabout, follow the palm lined avenue to the Resort’s iconic porte-cochere and let your holiday begin.

Once you have arrived in Port Douglas, the stunning region is yours to explore. If you have rented a car, the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort is just five minutes from Macrossan Street, the heart of Port Douglas. If you would prefer not to drive, there are plenty of ways to get around.

Dedicated TASTE Port Douglas travel option on Saturday 9th October 2021:

To help you make the most of the Taste Port Douglas Festival Village on Saturday 9th October, a complimentary shuttle service will be available for guests between Port Douglas town centre and Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort. Free parking will also be available, should you wish to make your own way to the festival grounds.
